Chickpea Enchiladas

I wasn't really paying any attention to the last 5 minutes of Home and Away tonight because I was too busy cooking dinner. I made chickpea enchiladas and they were delicious! Here is my recipe:

1 onion, diced
1 t/s crushed garlic
1 t/s sweet paprika
1 t/s hot paprika
1 t/s cumin powder
2 small, sweet red chilli (or half a t/s chilli powder)
Salt and pepper
2 t/s tomato paste
1 can tomatos
1 can chickpeas
1 can corn
Lettuce
Grated cheese
Fresh coriander
Any other fillings you want
Enchilada breads

Lightly fry onions and garlic for a few minutes. Add spices and chilli then after a couple of minutes add tomato paste. Then add the canned tomato with enough water to rinse out the tin (half a cm), bring to the boil and add chickpeas and corn. Simmer for at least 10 minutes to give the flavours time to come together. Season to taste.

Serve with warm enchilada breads and whatever fillings you like.

Marilyn

I've been wondering for a while about Marilyn. Who is the real Marilyn? Is she really that dim, or is she just extremely positive and naive?

We see Marilyn pottering around the coffee shop, giving advice, she's always there to sooth people and offer them a sandwich, and if the scriptwriters need a helping hand, she's there to stir the pot... But what's Marilyn's story? I wonder how she really feels and what she's really thinking when people are moaning at her about their trivial problems or doing something obviously stupid.

I think it's time to let Marilyn reclaim her real place in the Summer Bay character evolution. I'm sick of her just being a fill-in character, let's give her some substance. Home and Away is no place for half-heartedness, you're either in or you're out.

Ad-break

One of the great things about watching the last 5 minutes of Home and Away is that there aren't any ads! There is an ad break but the only thing shown is what's on tv3 later that night (which is really useful) and the news headlines coming up on the 6 o'clock news. Once Home and Away is over there is only an infomercial thing before the news comes on. It's just great!

Good news guys, I got home in time to see the last 8 minutes of Home and Away tonight!

Poor Romeo.. I turned on the t.v. in time to see Liam tell him if he really cared about Indi he would just LEAVE HER ALONE! That poor boy is having such a hard time, he should never have let Indi go in the first place.

Tonight we got a rare view of the Sydney waterfront... There's life outside Summer Bay? I don't know why Alf's daughter is there, but I assume it's a fight with what's-his-name because the next thing she's off kissing some other guy! Who is this random man who looks a bit like someone who was on Neighbours in the 80s?

Anyway, there's great new guys! It appears Dex is awake although it seems it will be a long road to recovery, made even longer by April being a whiny little bitch.

Well, that's tonights last 5 (8) minutes of Home and Away... Tune in next time and we might find out the identity of the random man Alf's daughter is kissing.

Indi Conspiracy?

I just had one of those confusing moments because I was looking up Indi on google and it came up with 'Indiana Evans' and I thought that must be her. I didn't click on any photos because from the thumbnail size ones it looked like Indi (blonde, beach-curled hair, big eyes) and I thought to myself "how awesome that her real-life name is the same as her Home and Away name!"

But then I went to the Home and Away official website and it said Indi's full name is Indigo Walker and her real-life name is Samara Weaving and I was so confused! Was there a big mistake? Had someone got it wrong on the official Home and Away website? Actually, no.. Apparently there was another character on Home and Away called Matilda Hunter who's real-life name is Indiana Evans. But they do actually look heaps alike!

Do you guys think they look alike? Is this some kind of Home and Away conspiracy?

Sometimes even channel 3+1 isn't late enough

I didn't get home in time to watch Home and Away today so I'll give an update on what I can remember from last week..

Dex was in a car accident because Ruby is crazy so now he's in a coma. April is even more annoying than usual and Indi still seems to care more about her love life than her brother. I can't remember anything else.

Hopefully I'll get home a bit earlier tomorrow so I can find out what happens to Dex!
